The international cultural studies conferences are organized biannually with the initiative of the Cultural Studies Association of Turkey and in cooperation with a university in Turkey. The conferences make a major contribution to cultural studies by bringing together researchers and scholars working in that area.

Following the first conference in Kemer (Modernity and Culture 2001), conferences have been held jointly with 100. Yıl University in Van (Turkish Cultures and Cultures of Turkey 2003), with Koç University in İstanbul (Identity and Culture 2005), with Işık University in Şile (E/Im/Migration and Culture 2007), with Karaelmas (now Bülent Ecevit) University in Zonguldak (Media and Culture 2009), with Kadir Has University (Space and Culture 2011) and with Bilkent University in Ankara (Memory and Culture 2013).
